Royal Hobart Regatta 2005

Combined with the

Mirror, Heron and Cadet Challenge

The hazards of sailing on the Derwent. Two bulk carriers and several keel boats
carved up the Saturday race.

A large fleet competed in Division 3, which comprised the annual Mirror, Heron and Cadet Challenge. Plus the odd Sabot & Laser.

The boys from The Edge (still bailing!) get a friendly welcome at the end of the event from
crew members Catherine Maher (Kamikaze) Amy Jocelyn (Carpe Diem) & Will Maher (Kamikaze II)

They're everywhere. Making an appearance in Constitution Dock
at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival.

Peter and Dylan Gore showed the way in the light breezes which stumped a few other in Monday's second race.

A rare appearance by Quentin & Robbie Hunt in Fizz shows the skipper hasn't lost his touch as he steals past Kamikaze.Note Kamikaze II's lone, low approach to the gybe mark.

Well heeled, and much reduced wetted surface area !

A Heron, a Mirror, a freight train & an interesting Hobart skyline.

Kamikaze II had to concede to a Heron: the annual grudge-match was on !

A great race for the mark in very trying conditions.

What a mass of dinghy types..All with different rounding capabilities.

Dodgems.

A clean get away Carpe Diem powers up past The Edge.
