Toll Tasmania: Supporting Tasmanian Mirror Sailors

KBSC Opening Day

Saturday, October 2, 2004

In a field dominated by Sabots and Lasers, just two Mirrors took the salute from Commodore Stephen Reynolds during the sail past.

During the lunchtime ceremonies, Daniel Pullen and crew Jarred Kingston were awarded Ist Yardstick in the Life Members Fleet Race, which was sailed as the last race of the previous season. Daniel's Mirror The Edge took honours over Quentin and Robbie Hunt sailing Magic.

The Club also accepted a Huon Pine memorial honour board dedicated to the late Martin Graney, to record the achievements of the Club's top Sabot juniors. A strong gathering of the Graney clan was in attendance to witness the handover of the striking trophy.

The season's racing opened with the Hevey Memorial Race. In the Mirror division, Jenny Graney and crew Daniel Parry in Carpe Diem won confortably from Daniel and Joel Morrison in the Edge.
